Where were you born?
San Bernardino, California
When and how did you come to know Jesus Christ?
I am grateful that Jesus has always been a part of my life. My mother was a person of profound faith who shared her love of Christ with me from my very beginning. As I matured, my relationship with the Lord continued to strengthen. During my teen years I committed my life to Christ and I have been growing in my faith ever since.
Describe your personal journey that led you to ordination. Include education, training, mentoring, service, and giftedness.
A simple request for volunteers during a worship service was the beginning of my understanding of God’s call upon my life. I began serving the Lord through ministry to children and I loved it! It was pure joy to serve the Lord and his church by sharing the Good News with children. It wasn’t long before I found myself in the position of ministry leadership. Having consulted wise counsel and after much prayer, I soon understood that the Lord was calling me into vocational ministry. Since that time, ministry for me has also expanded into areas of church planting, youth ministry and during the past several years, Christian education. I have the daily honor of sharing God’s word with students and taking part in their spiritual formation. Additionally, I am able to minister to school staff as well as the parents and extended families of my students.
In the process of equipping myself for ministry I have had many wonderful educational experiences. My post graduate study began at Azusa Pacific University and has continued with the Master of Ministry program at Point Loma Nazarene University. I praise God for wonderful educators, mentors and those who have have offered encouragement.
Describe how you intend to fulfill your ordination vows.
Continued growth in my relationship with Christ is necessary to fulfill my ordination vows. I love God’s word and will continue to study and grow and share what I learn with others. I will do my very best to live according to His will and seek Him through prayer consistently. I will share the Good News of Jesus Christ at every possible opportunity and will endeavor to love others with the Love of Christ. I will encourage faith in others and will train them as disciples of Jesus Christ. I will respect the authority of the Free Methodist Church and submit to the authority of its leaders. I am very grateful for the leadership of the Denomination as well as the Conference.
Are there any personal comments you would like to make to the Annual Conference?
I am so grateful to my wonderful family and friends who have prayed for me and encouraged me in this journey. Most importantly I wish to thank my husband Robert, and my sons Julian and Francisco, who have made many sacrifices to support me in ministry.
