Where were you born?

Long Beach, CA

When and how did you come to know Jesus Christ?

I grew up in the United Methodist Church. As a teenager, I had some difficult times with my family and we stopped attending church. I was broken and hurting for a long time. I was invited to Marina Christian Fellowship in 2006 and my life totally changed. I’ve been following Jesus ever since! I am continuously learning how to live in the love, grace and mercy of Christ.

Describe your personal journey that led you to ordination. Include education, training, mentoring, service, and giftedness.

While attending a monastic retreat with a small group of people from church, I felt and saw a call to pastoral ministry. It took me a few years to answer the call, but God was patient with me. I started out as a youth pastor. I am currently an associate pastor and I oversee our front door ministry and community outreach. I absolutely love helping people find ways to use their gifts to serve inside and outside of the church. It brings me such joy to help foster relationships and make connections with people who are especially hurting and lonely. I am currently a Master of Divinity student at APU.

Describe how you intend to fulfill your ordination vows.

I intend to fulfill my ordination vows through the guidance and grace of the Holy Spirit. I will aim to pray, learn and grow each day. I intend to share God’s love and mercy with everyone I come into contact with. I will seek Christ first in whatever I do and be accountable to my family and peers.
