What church are you serving in at present?

Vertigo Community Church

Briefly describe your testimony of coming to Christ:

Christ saved me from a life of addiction by meeting me in the gutter and helping me back up onto the walkway of life. After twenty years as an active addict, Christ set me free from the slavery of my own body and mind by introducing me to God through no power of my own, but through the power of Christ in my community. I was surprised to find the Holy Spirit already living within me, untapped and trying to get my attention. Thank you, Jesus, for saving me from the land of the walking dead and bringing me back to the walk of life.

Briefly describe your understanding of God’s calling on your life:

God has called me to serve people in the healthy pursuit of His will for myself and others. I understand that He saved my life through Jesus Christ. I am no longer a hostage to my sins, and the Holy Spirit moves within me to serve others. I am called to help free slaves in the city: those addicted to drugs, work and money; those who are victims of divorce and pornography; and those without mothers and fathers in hospitals, jails and homeless communities.

How did you come to the Free Methodist Church?

God Himself took me by the hand and walked my daughter and I into Verdugo Community Free Methodist Church one Sunday ten years ago and I never left. I believe in the Free Methodist values of teaching the New Testament to all, and in the Wesleyan way of exercising our free will to serve God and others. I identify with the Free Methodist history of social activism, and I long for a world where Christ is preached to all regardless of race, class or social standing, as envisioned by the Free Methodist Church.
