Ordained Elder in The River Conference where she has been serving in Hispanic Ministries for 6 years.

Born and raised in Mexico, Carmen is bilingual and bicultural which enables her to reach out to people within and outside the Church across cultural lines.  She serves on the Deacons Board and is Director of Human Resources at Gateway Community Church in Chino, California.  She is a chaplain in an immigration detention center. She translates for Luz y Vida, the Spanish version of Light and Life Magazine.  Her passion in ministry is to lead people to the healing presence of Jesus.

Married to Jon for 43 years, they have two children, Jon Michael and Crystal and two beautiful grandchildren, Jon Clayton “JC” and Hannah Grace.  Carmen loves reading, gardening, and cooking for her family and friends.  Her favorite pastimes are taking train rides with JC and tea parties with Hannah Grace.
