What church are you serving in at present?
Briefly describe your testimony of coming to Christ:
I came to know Christ as a freshman in High School through the ministry of Student Venture. The life and love that was shown by the leaders there caused me to “give this Christian thing a shot.” Nurtured by them and others in my life, I began to look at knowing what I believe and why. Without Jesus in High School, I would have wrecked my life and many others.
Briefly describe your understanding of God’s calling on your life:
I have a deep passion for Student Ministry. Affirmed by many others over the past 15 years in ministry, I am built and made for it. As Bob Goff put it, “There are plenty of things you are able to do and few things you were created to do. Never let the things you are able to do get in the way of the things you were created to do.” 15 years now in student ministry and still love every bit of it. Even the things that I shouldn’t enjoy, I do. Knowing that I am called to it reaffirms my joy in it. I was the first in my family to know Jesus and having the opportunity to be a part of my parents and grandparents testimony makes me realize just how passionate I am about student ministry, because without it my entire family would be on a different course.
How did you come to the Free Methodist Church?
I was invited by one of the leaders that helped lead me to Christ in High School. He was one of the pastors at Centerpoint (then The Lamb’s Fellowship Murrieta) and he invited me to come hear him preach and took my wife and I out to lunch. It was there that he expressed wanting me to help in the youth group. Our 2nd week attending the church we went through a 101 class describing what Free Methodist was, and we haven’t looked back since.
