What church are you serving in at present?

FMC Santa Barbara

Briefly describe your testimony of coming to Christ:

I was born and raised in a loving Christian home where my parents demonstrated their faith to me on a day-to-day basis. When I was seven years old, I wanted to publicly declare that I was going to follow Jesus and chose to be baptized at my church. I have been on the journey ever since and continue to believe that God wants to use us to bring shalom – right relationship with God, self, others, society, and environment – and his Kingdom here on earth. There have been ups and downs along the way thus far, but Christ has been faithful and I’m excited to see where he takes me in the future!

Briefly describe your understanding of God’s calling on your life:

Through my parents’ influence and many mission trips early in life, I found that I loved traveling and interacting with other people and cultures because I gained a fuller understanding of God’s character, complexity, and diversity. Thus, I have pursued opportunities and an education that will equip me for ministry. I received my BA in Global Studies (minor in Youth Ministry) from Azusa Pacific University in 2011 and will graduate from Fuller Theological Seminary with a MA in Intercultural Studies (International Development and Urban Studies focus) in June 2015. I believe God’s call on my life is to be a person dedicated to working cross-culturally to increase understanding, empathy, compassion, and engagement between people both locally and globally. I’m excited to partner with the Free Methodist Church and the work that we are already doing in these areas!

How did you come to the Free Methodist Church?

I came to the Free Methodist Church in 2011 after I graduated from Azusa Pacific University. I was a part of the Center for Transformational Leadership’s first summer internship and stayed plugged in afterwards!
